Creating a centrifugal compressor with improved vane diffusers is a promising direction to Stradford and a boundary layer theory of L. G. Loitsianskiy allowed to develop a methodology for profiling vane diffusers with a given velocity distribution on the surfaces of the vanes based on the solution of the inverse task of gas-dynamics. A comparison of the calculation results of the diffusers designed using different methods confirmed the advantage of the diffuser designed with a given velocity distribution. The influence of the shape of the profile, the density of the vane lattice and the radius of trailing edge of the vanes and the width of the diffuser on its efficiency has been studied. This allowed to develop the recommendations for the design of high efficient vane diffusers for the centrifugal stages of various types.
